WANNA CONQUER YOUR GIRL HEART - TAKE HER TO LA FAYETTE

The next day was weekend, Pierre decided to take me to La Fayette and loads of shopping malls like that. This time, Pierre brought along his sweet-heart and another REAL French guy named Simon. Pierre winked at me: "Going with him - Try to find out French gentleman CULTURE"

La Fayette was worth the most luxurious shopping malls in the world. You might stand still amazed by the perfume and underclothes stores. The way they arranged and decorated, the effect of light ... all of them made consumers feel infatuated and spontaneously take the money out of their wallets/purses.

I stunned and at a loss in front of a perfume store Nina Ricci; all the perfume bottles in apple shape brightened the space. It seemed that at current year, this company had launched a big campaign to promote for its brand name. Simon whispered to me explaining: "In France, if a man wants to take his girl's heart, he will take her to this place, buy her a favorite thing, and the success will be up to 80%"

We left the shopping mall at sunset. Pierre decided to take all of us to the street beside Notre Dame to eat. To go there, we wandered along the romantic Seine ... There were still many couples sitting together, eating, and giving the lovely sentences. I tended to take some photos but Pierre stopped me: "Watch out of the theif!"

Across the bridge in Paris, took a 5-min walk to the eating place, Pierre chose a familiar restaurant. Waiting for the waiter to bring the dishes, I saw Pierre winked Simon. In some seconds, this French guy took out of his overcoat's pocket a small gift.

Bonne Anniversaire !!! (Happy Birthday).

Oh my god .. I nearly spoke out. I asked Pierre why he knew my birthday. Pierre said: "Yesterday, you told me to go online registering for bus of Eurolines to travel around Europe the next week. Then I told Simon to do something surprising for you to make you happy. The culture of French guys .. haha .. now you see it!".

Simon said humorously  "Madam, open your present. You will like it for sure!"
It was a perfume bottle of Nina Ricci in a red apple shape !

LOVE IS NOT STRANGE, MY DEAR !!!

Then we drank beers, ate pizza and chatted. Pierre said: "How's Paris?" . I hummed and hawed "Well, it's just the same as what written in many books and journal - splendid - a brilliant light Capital - place for loving couples - as many people have sang the praise of Paris!"

Both Pierre and Simon shrugged their shoulders: "That's all! And the Europeans are dreaming about Asia!"

So I would not find anything different about Paris to share it with my high school friend. It's only the place for loving - and for me, love is the past.

I asked Pierre "Can I request them to open piece of music?" - "Of course, madam!"

Simon wrote down the song the I wanted - "Paris, tu m'as pris dans tes bras" (Paris, I got you in my arm). The voice of Enrico Macias resounded so soft and sweet ".. Il y a toujours du bonheur dans l'air, pour ceux qui veulent s'aimer" - "The happiness atmosphere always surrounds those who want to love"

EXPERIENCES SHARING

- EATING: In France, everything is very expensive. In the morning, try to buy some hot bread in the bakery at the Metro station. The price is around 2.5 EUR or a little bit higher. At noon and in the evening, you should go to some restaurants nearby Notre Dame (the street in front of a coffee shop also named as Notre Dame, it's big and quite famous). The prices for foods and drinks here are quite affordable from 3.5 EUR.

- MOVEMENT: Using Metro, this is the best public transportation for you to travel around Paris. Please note that don't buy ticket for each station, because it's not only expensive, but also make you lose the way sometimes when changing type of train like metro, RER, etc. Buy MOBILIS UNE JOURNEE (1 day ticket) for around 13 - 14 EUR (and half for students), and you can travel/change/use any Metro in Paris within a day.

- DIRECTION: Buying a Paris map + Metro map at the ticket store to be able to find the direction of Metro stations
- If you have intention to go to Disney Land in Paris, try to find a promotion on the website before deciding to buy ticket (Sometimes, they have promotion of 25 EUR/ ticket). For students, you are discount and should take notice of it (Down to 48 EUR - 11/2010)

- If you want to go to Versaille palace and you are EU citizen (or have a long term EU ID card at least 1 year), you don't have to buy ticket to go inside the palace.
- FLIGHT: if you book cheap flight tickets and land at Aéroport de Beauvais Tillé, remember that the airport opens at 6.00 AM and closes at 11.30 PM. If you have an early flight from Paris back to your country by cheap flight, you should rent a hostel near the airport (the minimum price for renting is 35EUR for a room for 3 persons)
