Review: Tsunami in Japan through the eyes of Witnesses

A sea of muddy water carrying tree branches, wood chips, houses, and vehicles rushed down the land; the giant Tsunami in Japan has destroyed everything on its path.

The black wave was slightly swallowing each part of Honshu island. In some areas, garbage was being burnt right on the water, fire erupted from the fuel tank or the gas line exploded after the earthquake.

After the dirty water had poured through the farms, villages, and cities; trees were lying about in disorder and in the way, tree branches were stuck with electric wires, garbage and large things were burst into the face of buildings and collapsed wall which had been houses of the people.

Mark John Bennett, an American lived in Narashito, Chiba province, took a video of the water surrounding his house which was some kilometers far from Tokyo Bay beach.

"The park near our place has been sunk into the water", Bennett described while filming. "The telephone and electric wares has fallen across everywhere on the street. And the house are swaying up and down like an island, do you see? The whole building is moving just like an island." Bennet was talking while everybody around was screaming.

A piece of video  in Rikuzentakata - Iwate province showed a scene like in a Hollywood film. It was a small town lying on the foggy coast. "You could not see the water pouring in. Instead, you might see the house rising and slowly driving on the wave until it crashed into the other house. All moved by the mysterious power if tsunami".

Ryan McDonald, who has live in Japan for 9 years, is so familiar with earthquake here in Japan; but the yesterday earthquake really made him horrified.

"Oh my God, this building is going to be collapsed", this English teacher was screaming in the video sent to CNN while he was filming the scene outside the house in Fukishima in this strongest Earthquake in Japan.

"The aftershock then are the worst", said Harrison Payton.

"Everybody seems to feel like the whole world is an adventure game in the entertaining park, except for it is doing so much horror and we cannot know when it will stop". Paytin said from his house in Yabuki-machi, Fukushima province - 180km far from the earthquake epicenter.

Ned Kubica from California was living in a hotel in Tokyo when the earthquake reached 8.9 magnitude. He ran out of the hotel. "The glasses is being broken everywhere at the next house", he said, "everyone poured out of the house to the street and looked at the buildings".

An American student living in Osaka said "the ground was shaking for around 2-3 minutes, and the doors were opened and shut continuously, and it felt like the water was destroying every single house." Then "a strange sound from the houses and doors were constantly resounded; and outside, the iron pillars were moving", said Brian Doyle.

At an area, a street was cracking on the line; half of the street was 1.8 meters lower than the rest. The people poured out from the higher to the lower street with the surprised eyes.

A piece of video clip from Brent Kooi showed that the pavements were cracking while the water was ejected in a park. Erdrin Azemi said that she and her fiance intended to fly from Narita airport in Tokyo but every flight was delayed. "We could not run because the land was shaking. I was so terrified because I thought this building might be damaged". Some hours later until this early morning, these two people were still stuck inside the airport with hundreds of other passengers.

Armbrister living in Ichihara - Chiba province, said that they had not overcome the shock of the first attack when they heard a loud explosion in the distance." At the same time, through the window, we saw the sky suddenly changing into yellow. We went out and figured out that there was a certain factory had exploded." "The smoke was rising a lot. It cover all the sky with black. That night came so fast". Armbrister said.

The 8.9 magnitude earthquake happening yesterday afternoon in the northeast off the coast of Japan has accompanied by dozens of aftershocks lasted for several hours. The seismic can be seen in Tokyo and many other cities. This severe earthquake caused the tsunamis with the height up to 10 meters, stuck down the eastern provinces of Japan, including Sendai city - the home of a million people.

The Tsunami spread over the bottom of Pacific Ocean, touched some islands at the middle of the ocean and the West Coast of America. The governments of these cities in this area has announced the warning of tsunami and evacuation.

Back to Japan, so far, the number of deaths are identified about 400, with more than 350 missing people. However, the Japanese Kyodo news agency fears that this number can exceed 1000. The pictures from Japan have shown the level of devastation of earthquakes and tsunamis - collapsed building, deformed vehicles, ships and boats are turned sideways on the harbors, cars and aircraft were swept away by water.

The United Nations and dozens of countries and territories has announced for the willingness to help Japan overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The Japanese government has mobilized military, planes, boats to rescue people and help overcome these challenges.

And we, the citizen of the world, LET'S PRAY FOR JAPAN!!
