Coming to Washington DC to see Cherry Blossom

It is said that the ideal season for traveling to the capital Washington D.C of the USA is Spring (from March to May), or Autumn (from September to November).

However, to have the most wonderful and memorable trip to America, you should go in the beginning of Spring, when thousand of cherry blossom tree blooming. At that time, the weather is warmer by the sunglight. It is believed that the atmosphere in Washington DC is full of Spring with thousands of flower fragrancy, especially at the sunrise.

Every year, when Spring is coming, the Washingtonian and the tourists often come to this city to see the cherry blossom at National Mall, beside the Potomac. And at the very first days of the year, everybody is waiting for the official information about the date and time of the blooming of cherry blossom trees from the flower specialists, the botanists working at the huge National Square. Only some short statements, but the news from those specialists are very important. If the forecast is wrong, they may be spoken scornfully of and criticized for the whole life.

They said that this year, the cherry blossom stumps would bloom at the end of the second week in March, and then it would reach the peak on 4th April. However, the International Cherry Blossom Festival will begin on 27th March in order to celebrate the first cherry blossom stump which was the present of Tokyo Mayor to the citizen of the USA capital 84 years ago. National Mall is a green space with the beautiful lake Tudal Basin stretched from Capitol HIkk to Lincoln Statue. At both sides, there are a lot of monuments and more than ten famous museums.

During this Cherry Blossom Festival at the capital of the United States, besides the music and dance programs, artistic exhibition, and other traditional Japanese cuisine programs, there are also many other interesting programs. They are the kite competition operating around Washington monument on 7th March 2011. George Washington was the first president of America(in 1789) and he was the person who decide to choose the land on the bank of Potomac river to be the capital of the State in 1790. On 9.9.1791, the capital of the USA was official named by full name of Washington. However, after his death (on 14.12.1799), he was interred in Mount Vernon in Virginia State nearby; and this area is also an interesting traveling destination.

Traveling is one way to get more knowledge and to see many natural as well as artificial masterpieces. The capital Washington DC has all of that scenes. Around National Mall are compound area Smithsonian including 19 museums; most of the are opened everyday without any fee for ticket, except for Christmas Eve on 25.12 every year. Those museums are Natural History Museum, Museum of Flight and Space, American History Museum (where is displaying the hat of president Abraham Lincoln assassinated on 04.14.1865).
As the other years, the Cherry Blossom Festival 2011 lasting in 2 weeks will attract millions of tourist from everywhere in the world including America, the UK, Japan, France, Korea, and recent years, there are also tourists from China, and Vietnam. The Festival will be very amazing and wonderful that you should not miss. Why don't you come to Washington DC and enjoy cherry blossoms blooming?!
